As a big Sarah Pekkanen fan from the get-go, I dutifully pre-ordered this gem, The Perfect Neighbors, from Barnes & Noble. And then it didn't arrive. Several days later, no sign of it. Checked my order status online and found my pre-order to be, "Delivered at buyer's address!" by the US Postal Service. What?? I've got no book here, people! Then just as mysteriously as it hadn't been delivered, my book ARRIVED a week later. *sigh* Weird. Now I'm REALLY ready to read it and hope whoever was sitting on my pre-order enjoyed it, too.

A Grown-Up Kind of Pretty
Finally, after that 500+ page Deborah Harkness event, we're ready to move on to the next book on our reading list. A Grown-Up Kind of Prettyby Joshilyn Jackson is our latest choice and is described by Booklist (Starred Review) as "...a mesmerizing tale ...This is Jackson's most absorbing book yet, a lush, rich read with three very different but equally compelling characters at its core."
Sounds like perfectly peachy read.

The Book of Life
Where'd we go? Oops - big apologies about that reading lapse, but life took over here for a bit. Speaking of life, our current bookclub selection is by a favorite writer to our club who goes by the name of Deborah Harkness. Yes, we've read the first two books in her All Souls Trilogy and now must read the final installment, The Book of Life. And guess what? This book promises all kinds of "mystery, suspense, and romance" along with new "crises and enemies" to make things interesting.
... because we're due for a good vampire/witch read.
