I'm just starting chapter 6... not sure what I think about it so far.
ReplyDeleteI am currently at chapter 22 and can't hold my tongue any longer - this book is just plain stupid and awful, to put it bluntly! I keep hoping that some redeeming factor will magically appear so I don't feel like I've wasted so much of time reading this depressingly unbelievable book. The main character, Tilly, a guidance counselor, lacks the maturity to counsel high school kids when she's STILL stuck in her own teenage angst as a married 30-something woman. And the "seeing the future" thing is the most unbelievable of all... someone put me out of my misery!
ReplyDeleteToday I'm giving it a try AGAIN, mostly because of the reviewer's mention of a 'thriller of a conclusion'. Let's see what that's all about.
ReplyDeleteWell I did it. Finished reading the book, that is. The ending wasn't exactly a 'thriller' but more of a 'shocker' as Tilly figures it all out and finds herself in the process. While I do like Scotch's writing, I was completely turned off at being dragged through all of the immaturity to reach an OK ending. So with that, I'm giving this book 2 out of 5 stars.
