Overall, I enjoyed getting "sucked into" the Divergent series and getting to know the characters as they traversed through post-modern society. I felt Veronica Roth did a decent job in creating this "new world" and wove complexities into the story that kept me guessing until the end. Yes, there was a surprising amount of violence; but no, I wouldn't have found the story believable if there was a lack thereof. My only disappointment was seeing the characters experience heart-wrenching loss at such a young age - but again, Roth kept it "real" by incorporating death into the story. If anything, she gives readers life-lessons in fiction form.
