Vows, Vendettas & A Little Black Dress

Kyra Davis, a favorite author of the renowned Chicken Lit Bookclub, just released a new book called Vows, Vendettas and a Little Black Dress that we really must read. Why the pressure? Read this book dedication and you can't help but feel compelled to do so:
"I dedicate this book to my loyal readers. I am always amazed
by the tremendous and consistent support that you express
both in person at my book-signing events or through
your Internet posts and e-mails. You are my motivation,
and Sophie belongs every bit as much to you as she does to me. Thank you."
Kyra Davis
And if that isn't enough to get you motivated, then you must take a look at Kyra's heartfelt blog post here.

Then finally, read this excerpt as icing on the cake.
Will you read with us? If not for your reading enjoyment, let's do this for Kyra.

  1. I finished reading this book yesterday, and like all of Kyra Davis' novels LOVED it. Sophie's wry wit cracks me up, and her relationship with Anatoly continually keeps me guessing about the direction they will take next. Speaking of which, how about that Epilogue? No spoilers - just asking the question. :)

  2. Finished this morning! Let's discuss! How about that lil cliffhanger at the end!

  3. I am so interested in a sequel with more about Anatoly's past - talk about can of worms! And Dena's recovery? So many possibilities!

  4. Totally agree! I wouldn't mind reading more about the mysterious Anatoly! Hope that happens.

There were so many LOL moments in connection with Maryann's wedding plans. Peach?!

Did you guess the ending at all? I, of course, guessed wrong. : (

  5. Hope so, too. A wife? Russian Mafia? Who saw those coming!

Kyra had me rolling with the Disney/Peach/Taffeta references. And what about Maryann's fiance... is he in the closet, or what?

I guessed completely wrong about the end and must say that's why I gave the book 4 out of 5 stars. Toward the final chapters, I was all "Come on already - give us a clue here, Kyra!" Unless she actually gave us clues and I missed them. Anyway, I loved this book despite my cluelessness.
