The Christmas List

With the holidays flying by at breakneck speed, The Christmas Listby Richard Paul Evans is the perfect book selection for the occasion.  In fact, take a look at how readers reacted to the book and see why we took the leap in choosing it:

Did someone just say the book should be mandatory reading and that it would make a great movie?  Well, alrighty - let's get on it then.

  1. Finishing this book on Christmas Eve, I really wished this book had felt less like an afternoon Lifetime series viewing. Yes this is a work of fiction that likens itself to a modern rendition of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, but watching the George C. Scott film would have been so much more compelling. The characters were just plain flat, and the short book would've been even shorter if it weren't for all of the extra empty pages between chapters - which could've been used for fleshing out said characters, making the story more realistic. Disappointed.

  2. I loved the book, however..I am sensing that this was written either quickly, or the methodology of the story telling needs to change. I am sensing the last several Christmas books have all basically been the same bad, misguided person sees the error of their ways, and in the end all is well with the world. I know that it is meant as a message of hope, but I do agree with you on the Christmas Carol theme. Needs to be changed up.

On to our next book? I will jump into it in the morning .. :-)
