Between You and Me

This next book was supposed to be a summer read, but what the heck, let's make it the second book in our Fall 2013 lineup.  The book is called Between You and Me and is written by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus. Sound a little familiar?  They should!  Also written by these fabulous authors are books we know such as The Nanny Diaries and Nanny Returns.

Let's do this.

  1. This book left me annoyed and perplexed by 1) holes in the plot and 2) unlikeable characters whom I had a hard time "rooting" for along the way. Not only that but similarities between the main character and the celebrity life of Britney Spears made the story no more enjoyable. Definitely NOT the "summer beach read" reviewers promised, sadly.

    2 out of 5 stars

    1. This story was soooo far fetched. Definitely feels like a cross between B.S. and every really bad reality television show wrapped into one! Yes there is a little, and I use that in the right context, back story of what happened between Andy and Logan when Logan was little. But it spent far too much time dealing with the antics of the extremely rich and spoiled. It seemed like everyone wanted their own little piece of the pie that is this story line. The only one I felt anything for, was that innocent little baby. You are generous with your two stars. One of the worst books we have read in awhile. Would have had potential if the backstories of the characters had be adequately fleshed out and developed. With all the characters in the story it would have gone so much further and been a better read for me if the author had spent as much time doing that, as playing on the reality tv aspect.
