About

The Chicken Lit Bookclub started in January 2008 as a way to round up blogger readers as they shared discussions about books. Anyone is welcome to offer suggestions for book selections and opinions about our reading content. In fact, we are a group of educated and highly opinionated readers who know how to keep things lively – sharing the love of reading is what we’re all about!

Here are the basic guidelines to help keep the bookclub focused:
  • Membership is open to everyone.
  • Titles and/or theme suggestions for bookclub selections are welcome.
  • The bookclub administrator reserves the right to choose and post featured books.
  • After a featured book is posted, members are not required to purchase the book from the bookclub website to participate in forums. However, any earnings received from online book sales shall support the cost of maintaining the online bookclub.
  • Free of Timelines. That’s right, we’ve tossed reading timelines out the window. What does this mean to you? It means you can pick up and read at your own pace. If you choose to read one of our bookclub selections and then finish it, just come back and post a review/rating of the book. It’s that easy!
  • Free of Discussions. What? Does that mean we won’t have any more questions to answer? Yes & no. If you want to post a question in your review of the bookclub selection, you are completely free to do so. But from now on, we will be free of all those scheduled discussion questions waiting for your input.
  • Review Anytime. So you just finished book selection #2 when book #75 just posted? So what! Just click on the book #2 web post and review/rate the book you finished. We’ll always want to know how you rated our book choices no matter where we are in the selection process.
  • Revealing details or plot lines early in the book reading is strictly prohibited and shall result in lifetime banishment from the Chicken Lit Bookclub. You don’t want to go there. Play nicely.
  • The bookclub administrator reserves all rights to block or delete vulgar comments posted within the discussion arena, so please avoid any form of vulgarity on this site.
  • Any kind of required legalese not mentioned in the above guidelines goes here. As a law abiding member, you get the drift.
We’re all about making club membership simple. Oh, and do remember that recommendations are always welcome, even if you just want us to review a certain book for you before you decide to jump in and read it.

With all that, let’s get reading!
